Absence from School
If your child is absent owing to illness, please telephone the school before registration on 01725 510556. Alternatively, you may email school; email@example.com A written note is required to explain the absence if you have not emailed or telephoned. A supply of these forms is kept in the main foyer or can be downloaded from this website.
A medical/dental form should be completed to give us prior notification that you wish to remove your child from the school premises. It is vital to let us know if you have arranged for someone to collect your child on your behalf.
Holidays in Term Time
In line with government policy, we strongly discourage parents from removing children during term time to accompany them on their annual holiday. We do, however, recognise that many of our parents have occupations which make it very difficult to arrange family holidays during term time. We regularly publish dates when holiday absence should be avoided – typically the very beginning of each half term and periods immediately prior to and during examinations. Permission to remove a child during term time must be made using the holiday forms available from the school foyer, or downloaded from this website.Holiday leave is not an entitlement and may be refused if, for example, the child has a poor record of attendance. It is therefore important that permission is sought before travel arrangements are made.
